Our journey started with a little brick-and-mortar coffee shop in Corey’s hometown, Galena, IL.
In May 2020, we opened our doors amidst Covid-19 restrictions. As first-time business owners brimming with big ideas but limited experience, we were expecting our fifth child and had invested a lot in the success of our coffee venture. Despite the chaos around us, we focused on what we knew best: loving people and serving amazing coffee!
...and it worked! It turns out, people value a steaming cup of coffee delivered with a smile!
After a year in business, we recognized the importance of roasting our own beans. This shift would allow us to ensure a consistently high-quality product while controlling the sourcing and growing practices of our green coffee. Corey became a certified specialty coffee roaster and began roasting for our shop.
...and he was fantastic! Word spread quickly, and our customers couldn't get enough of the coffee! We had a small roaster set up in the shop, allowing patrons to watch the roasting process live! It wasn’t long until a local restaurant asked if we would develop a roast for them, then another coffee shop, and another.
As our demand grew, we began searching for a larger roasting facility to accommodate our expansion. In May 2024, we purchased our current roasting site. Our mission is to revitalize this iconic building in Cuba City, WI. For now, we continue roasting in Cuba City while operating a coffee shop in Galena, IL, and are excited to announce a second location coming soon to Cuba City!
